I really enjoyed this series. I read the first 2 books again before reading the conclusion. I sometimes find myself scratching my head to understand my enjoyment when so much that I was expecting from this series did not materialize. I like stories with dragons which are in this series but they never play as prominent a role as I expected. I like epic stories with epic battles. This is an epic series but there are few epic battles - instead most conflicts are settled with smaller more personal clashes. Some of the foreshadowing in the story suggests a much different final conflict than what occurs which I found to be disappointing. Regardless, I enjoyed this series since the plot and characters were so engaging. Epic plot with evil emperor in fear of a destined savior is a classic plot line which has been spun out a thousand different ways but Kristian Alva does a great job of creating an innovative setting and engaging characters to make this story special. This a good young adult fantasy although readers should be prepared for plot to develop in unconventional methods compared to other epic fantasies.Vosper's Revenge is the conclusion of the Dragon Stone Saga. The first two books were Dragon Stones (Book one of the Dragon Stones Saga) and Return of the Dragon Riders: Book Two of the Dragon Stone Saga. Author has announced a second series, The Chronicles of Tallin, to be based in the same universe and with planned publication in 2013.
No major editing or writing issues were noted. As with the other books in this series, Vosper's Revenge is short. The combined length of this series would be more appropriate for a single publication instead of a trilogy. Vosper's Revenge is 3,411 Kindle locations long. Standard length "paperback" novels seem to run in the 4,500 to 7,000 plus Kindle location range. Long novels can range from 15,000 to 20,000 plus Kindle locations.

Vosper Revenge Book Three of the Dragon Stone Saga Kristian Alva Isaac Sweeney 9781937361082 Books Reviews
Kristian Alva has continued this series with another amazing book. As all of the previous books of the Dragon Stone Saga this one also shows a lot of character personality. Just when I thought that the characters could touch my heart no more Elias, Torin, and even the new faces. This saga has been able to transport me into the world of dragons and magic more than other books I have read. I can see the action in the book, I can cry with the characters. This is something few authors are able to offer me. I find myself wanting to help Elias find himself and enjoy watching him grow and mature.
Vosper’s Revenge was a perfect end to the trilogy. You were able to see Elias follow his destiny, one that he creates. You gain a new appreciation of the other members within the story, catching yourself crying when tragedy strikes. Elias not only makes a few new friends that he’s willing to fight beside, he also learns about his history. After his mother attempts to kill him in book 2, he is grateful to obtain some information about his past.
Elias growth doesn’t stop with just knowledge, he is also honing his skills in magic and with being a dragon rider. With Nydiered, his dragon, he will learn to love and share a part of himself he never realized that he had. Vosper’s Revenge reminds us that not all traitors are bad, and not all good guys are good. Finding the power to overcome the emperor will prove taxing for Elias; however, it doesn’t come without a great lesson in the process.
This young adult novel is based in a wonderful fantasy place that makes anyone who reads it wish they had a dragon to fly in the open skies with. Allow yourself to be transported as I have.
A very satisfying ending to this part of the series. Even though the saga continues on in another set of books, there was a conclusion to this part of the story. I liked it a lot. The three books really are distinct from one another, so this was quite a bit different than the last two. This one, as the name suggests, is much more focused on taking down Vosper. There quite a few groups to keep track of here, but they are all working towards the same ultimate goal of defeating Vosper.
In some ways, this book was the most exciting of the 3. There was not a ton of downtime, it was basically action or something important happening from start to finish. We revisit Elias and his dragon, who are training together and close to being bonded. Rali is no longer a boy who lost his father, but an emerging King who is growing into his leadership role with the help of his mother, Sela. Elias and Rali have a special bond as well, having great responsibility thrust upon them so early, but both are handling it well and have matured significantly in the last year in their new roles. Even though we're familiar with some of the other groups, they are more involved this time, with the dwarfs and the elves playing a much bigger role in helping the dragon riders defeat Vosper.
I really enjoyed Tallin again. He's probably my favorite. Faces adversity but still so fearless. Also, happy to that Chua was back again, which I wasn't expecting given the distance to the Elder Willow. The parts with Sela and Thorin were a lot of fun, it was great that Thorin was a part of this one, I wasn't certain he was going to have much of a role in this book. He brought some lightness to the story, which I enjoyed.
Highly recommend this one. Without giving too much away, there's more surprises than I was thinking, so it doesn't just go exactly according to plan, which is good. I like the main characters a lot, love how Elias has grown into himself and his abilities, and enjoy Tallin a ton. There's a lot we don't yet know about Tallin. So, I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series to revisit with these characters.
