“The most important period of life is not the age of university studies, but the first one, from birth to the age of six. For this is when man’s intelligence itself, his greatest implement, is being formed.” Maria Montessori
“Early experience has a unique advantage in shaping the architecture of developing brain circuits before they are fully mature and stabilized. Early learning lays the foundation for later learning, and is essential for the development of optimized brain architecture.”

Our daughter turns 4 yrs old next month, started window shopping for kindergartens for following year, found that I really liked the idea of Montessori to help build daughters foundation. So pleased I ordered this book, it's so helpful with tips and tricks, tons of reference, even app recommendations for apple or android. Really like how book is organized, each chapter is topic (I.e. life skills, reading / writing, science, math, etc). Also appreciate the intro chapter as an intro to Montessori, how the brain works, why certain activities are recommended as building blocks for other skills. Our daughter is getting a more traditional preschool experience, but I'm thrilled I'm able to do Montessori activities at home to strengthen fundamentals.... This is my go-to book for any family with a child turning 2 years old.Product details

Very informative. Easy read, many places highlighted for future reference. Would recommend.
Great book..easy read..easy assignments..it jumpstarts your creative juices and reminds you of the lessons in the simplest things...everything has a purpose in preparing children for life.Great introductory into Montessori.
Wow! What an awesome book. I have read so many Montessori books and this is the first one I found that gave me practical advice. The book is well structured, easy to read and provide lots of ideas, photos and links. Best of all - it is so easy to implement without buying expensive Montessori equipment. John uses things we all have in the house to teach kids. This is a fantastic read!
I really enjoyed this book. It is a wonderful and inspirational book that brings Montessori principles and activities into the home environment where your children gain life skills in a systematic and methodical manner. As a pure novice to Montessori teaching and a SAHM of two kids under the age of two it is an easy read and most activities can be done with what is on hand and there are suggestions on what and where to buy Montessori items. The author is passionate about his work and it shows. I initially complained about a few dead links in the kindle edition but the author proactively updated the links in his book. Get the book and start working through it with your toddler. This book puts expensive Montessori preschool education within every parents' grasp.
My two youngest daughters are going to homeschool their sons and since they attended a Montessori school when they were young, wanted to give their boys the same learning opportunities. This book is a great aid and they love it. It tells how to set up a learning center and how to actually guide the learning. I am ordering a second book so they can each have their own copy.
An excellent book for parents who wish to use teach their preschooler at home. The approach is mainly Montessori which has stood the test of more than 100 years in many countries.
I don't care for the title much. If I wasn't familiar with Montessori I would have assumed it was targeting Tiger Moms.
Parents are encouraged to wait to children are developmentally ready for each activity. No pushing.
I LOVE this book! It was exactly what I needed to help me sort out all of the different Montessori materials and how to use them. I felt like I was in over my head when trying to decide what to buy. This book is definitely aimed at parents who are educating using the Montessori method. It lets you know what is worth getting and what you can easily make at home. I found that so invaluable. I found myself highlighting many pages for inspiration and then went on to order John's other books (which I am very excited to read). I think people may pass this up because it's not as flashy as the other Montessori books out there but trust me, it's a treasure.
